Return to NLS

Returning to the Nordschleife for the 3rd round of the NLS championship saw a new Total Energies livery for the #34 car as the team now focussed on finishing the NLS championship as best as possible with the outgoing M6 GT3 that would be retired at the end of the 2021 season after 6years of service.

Ben Tuck set a blistering laptime in qualifying to put the Walkenhorst car P3 for the starting grid, and Ben would also start the race where after some T1 contact, pitted from P6 and in touch with the leaders to hand over to David. David came straight out into a scrap for the lead of the race and with the help of other strategy moved into P2 hunting down P1, however a gearbox failure would see the car have to slow and box while challenging for the lead to end the cars chances of a victory.

“It was extremely frustrating to have the gearbox issue when we did… we were in a fantastic position to challenge for the lead and later we saw the cars we were battling with also encountered issues meaning we would have had a very strong car to finish the race with and pick up a podium minimum or the race win!”
