David Pittard will continue his partnership with BMW and Walkenhorst Motorsport and take on one of the toughest challenges in European GT Racing for 2021 with a top line up of BMW Motorsport Factory drivers, double DTM champion Marco Wittman and DTM Race winner Sheldon Van Der Linde in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Championship and Spa24hrs.
Having already joined Walkenhorst’s Intercontinental GT Challenge championship team in 2020, David will return to the SRO championship and the Spa24hrs in the PRO class. The GTWC Europe Endurance championship compromises of 5 races, visiting some of Europe’s most famous race tracks with races from 3hrs at Monza, Nurburgring GP and Barcelona, 1 6hr race at Paul Ricard and the blue ribbon event the Spa24hrs.
Pairing with Nürburgring champion David will be 2 time DTM champion Marco Wittman, who claimed Germany’s most prestious touring car crown in 2014 & 2016 for BMW, who enters his 8th year as a BMW factory driver. Alongside David and Marco, young BMW Factory driver and DTM race winner Sheldon Van Der Linde who rejoin’s Walkenhorst all season, after an impressive 1 off appearance for the team winning the Kyalami 9hrs and helping BMW win the 2020 IGTC championship.
